Mau Thuong Temple in Sapa is associated with the story of Princess Lieu Hanh. According to the people here, she is the daughter of Princess Mi Nuong and saint Tan Vien, a benevolent saint specializing in helping people take care of the land and protect them from natural disasters. People in Sapa very much worship and respect her.

Before, this temple had another name, the May Cua Temple (Saw Machine), because the temple was located near a large sawmill of the French during the war.

Sapa Mau Thuong is one of three famous ancient temples. It has been recognized as a provincial-level cultural and historical relic. It has made many contributions in the development process, preserving many cultural, historical, and cultural values of the people in the mountainous areas of the Northwest.

The best time for you to visit Mau Thuong in Sapa is around the beginning of the year, from January to March. Because the route is quite close, if your group is small, you can choose to call a motorbike taxi to move to the temple for convenience and cost savings, only about 30,000 VND / way with about 15 minutes you have arrived at Temple of Mau Thuong.
