Brief introduction about Bac Ha Plateau

Location: a district in the Northeast of Lao Cai, located in Lao Cai and Ha Giang, Vietnam.

Not as noisy and bustling as Sapa, Bac Ha plateau attracts tourists with its unspoiled beauty and intact cultural values. This place not only owns many beautiful landscapes, the “white forest” beauty imbued with the natural features of the Northwest highlands such as dreamy, majestic mountains and friendly and hospitable ethnic people.

The name Bac Ha originates from the Tay phrase, called "Pac ha" - which means "a hundred bundles of life." During the French colonial period, the French recorded Pac ha's sound according to the Latin alphabet as Pakha. After that, Vietnamese people read the Bac Ha citadel and became the official name of this land.

In addition, Bac Ha also has another "nickname," "white plateau," because here, four seasons white clouds spread over the mountains. Plum, apricot, and pear flowers bloom all over the plateau in the spring, mixing with the white mist hanging on the slopes, so Bac Ha is known as the "white plateau."
