The Vietnamese Market Experience
The class begins at the Hoi An Central Market, where participants will learn some basic Vietnamese phrases to use while shopping for ingredients. The market is a vibrant and colorful place, filled with sights, sounds, and aromas that are sure to delight the senses. Here, participants will have the opportunity to interact with the merchants and purchase the ingredients that they will use in the cooking lesson. Choosing the right ingredients is an essential part of Vietnamese cooking, as the freshness and quality of the ingredients greatly affect the taste and aroma of the final dish. You will get to know about the traditional ingredients that are used in Hoi An’s cuisine, which are hard to find anywhere else.
The Cooking Lesson
After the market visit, participants will take a boat ride from the market to the local house where the cooking lesson will take place. The boat ride offers a chance to refresh oneself and take in the beautiful ancient town scene. Once at the local house, the enthusiastic host will demonstrate how to prepare each dish before guiding participants in the preparation of their own dish. After the lesson, participants will enjoy the meal they have prepared, hopefully gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation for Vietnamese cuisine and Hoi An’s cuisine in particular. This cooking class is designed for all skill levels; whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned cook, you will learn a lot from the class.
Inclusions and Exclusions
This tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off in Hoi An City Center, transportation with air-conditioning, lunch or dinner (1 menu will be applied for a group of 2 pax), boat, bottled drinking water, English-speaking tour guide, and travel insurance. Note that this tour will have a maximum of 15 travelers. However, other languages are available upon request with a surcharge. Exclusions include tips and gratuities, and personal expenses such as shopping, telephone, and beverage.
Children policy and Availability
Children policy applies, free for children 0-6 years old, full charge for children from 7 years old, and Maximum of one child accompanied by one adult; the 2nd child will pay the adult price. This tour is available every day except departures from 21 Jan 2023 to 28 Jan 2023.
