Three hotels and seven resorts at Vietnam’s top tourism hotpots were honored in various categories at this year’s World Luxury Hotel Awards.

Almanity Hoi An Resort & Spa was named the global winner of “Luxury yoga & wellness retreat” category.

Located on Ly Thuong Kiet Street in the historic Old Town of Hoi An, the resort has 138 rooms surrounded by green trees and flower gardens.

Its spa facility, the largest on Vietnam’s central coast, offers daily spa treatments, yoga classes and Tai Chi practice, along with a host of other wellness activities.

The resort has recently launched sustainable activities to make the resort more eco-friendly.

Room rates range from VND1.9 million ($76.49) per night.

Around 8 kilometers from downtown Nha Trang City, Amiana Resort Nha Trang was named winner of the “Luxury private beach resort” category.

Overlooking Nha Trang Bay, the resort has 153 rooms and villas, each with a garden or ocean view, and a private balcony.

The interiors are made from local materials imbued with Vietnamese culture, from tea sets to coffee filters made of Bat Trang ceramics, or products made from coconut trunks and shells.

At the heart of the resort is a 2,500-square-meter natural seawater pool and a 700-square-meter freshwater infinity pool.

Room rates start from VND3.5 million.

Situated deep inside a green forest overlooking Ninh Van Bay in the beach city of Nha Trang, An Lam Retreats Ninh Van Bay won the “Luxury romantic beach resort” category.

The resort has 37 villas also built with eco-friendly materials.

The only way to reach the resort is by boat.

In addition to round-trip boat transfers, the resort also offers guests 90-minute yoga and meditation sessions, trekking around waterfalls in the mountains and activities such as snorkeling, kayaking and coracle rowing.

Rates for a night’s stay begin at VND11.5 million.

Hôtel De La Coupole – Mgallery in the northern highlands city Sa Pa was named winner of the “Luxury destination hotel” category.

Its design takes inspiration from the Art Deco period in France.

Located opposite an iconic stone church in downtown Sa Pa, the hotel features 249 rooms and suites that allow tourists to enjoy views of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range’s famed rice terraces.

The hotel offers guests trips to Muong Hoa cable car station, from where they can take a seven-minute trip to the Mount Fansipan cable car station, enjoying the beauty of the Hoang Lien Son range with its rolling forests and valleys from a great height.

Room rates cost from VND2.9 million per person.

Located on Tran Phu, one of busiest coastal roads in Nha Trang, InterContinental Nha Trang was honored as the global winner of the “Luxury coastal hotel” category.

It has 279 rooms and 56 suites overlooking the 12-kilometer-long Tran Phu beach, renowned for its golden sand and blue waters.

From the hotel, guests can book a car to visit Long Son Pagoda, the ancient Cham Ponagar Tower, and Christ the King Cathedral.

The hotel is also near the famed Nha Trang night market.

Room rates start from VND4.8 million.

The Meliá Ho Tram Beach Resort in Xuyen Moc District in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, which neighbors HCMC, won the “Luxury wellness retreat” category.

Stretching along private beaches in the Ho Tram Tourist Area, the resort has 152 rooms and 83 villas, as well as featuring a host of world-class facilities such as three restaurants including the beach club, a swim-up bar, a coffee shop, 20-treatment room spa, a ballroom, conference facilities, kids club, outdoor garden, gymnasium, and gift shop.

Guests can visit fishing markets and trek into Phuoc Buu forest, home to rare endangered species.

Room rates start from VND6.5 million.

With its private villa-style accommodations nestled along the winding coastline of Long Beach on Vietnam’s largest island Phu Quoc, Meliá Vinpearl Phu Quoc won top honors in the “Luxury villa resort” category.

The resort has 522 villas, each featuring swimming pools and secluded space for those seeking privacy and quietness.

Guests can walk around the sandy beach, practice underwater yoga or experience massage treatments at YHI Spa, which uses natural skin care ingredients.

Prices begin at VND4.3 million.

Ville De Mont Mountain Resort in Sa Pa topped all other destinations in the “Luxury wedding resort” category.

Standing 1,500 meters above sea level with a year-round cool climate, the resort is home to 39 villas overlooking Muong Hoa Valley and Ham Rong Mountain.

All villas here are built from stone and wood native to the region, and decorated with handmade brocade from local indigenous communities.

Last year, members of the Canadian pop/rock country band The Moffatts stayed at the resort when they toured Vietnam.

Room rates start from VND6.5 million.

Located in downtown Nha Trang, Potique Hotel‘s chic look won it the “Best architectural design” category.

Its design takes inspiration from Dr. Alexandre Yersin’s journeys to explore Nha Trang in the late 19th to early 20th centuries. The style here is imbued with a touch of classic French culture combined with rustic Indochine styles.

The hotel has a total of 151 rooms and a rooftop swimming pool.

Hugging the quiet Co Co River a 35-minute drive from Da Nang International Airport, Silk Sense Hoi An River Resort was named best “Luxury riverside resort.”

Its design is a harmonious combination of the historical architecture of Hoi An’s traditional homes, and modern European styles, topped by red-tiled roofs.

Most interiors are made with eco-friendly materials.

The resort is equipped with one presidential suite, two villas, 18 suites and 60 hotel rooms surrounded by vines that help rooms stay cool in the heat.

At the heart of the resort lies an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by green trees and organic gardens.

Room rates start at VND1.8 million.

The World Luxury Hotel Awards was first launched in 2006 to acknowledge excellence in the luxury hotel industry as voted by guests, travelers and industry players alike. Over 300,000 international travelers vote during a four-week period each year to select the winners.

The results of annual awards, announced early this month, are decided by votes of industry players, guests and other travelers.
