The mission of the Museum since its establishment on June 24, 1966, is to collect, research, preserve, inventory, repair, restore, display, educate, communicate and transmit the values ​​of the present typical national objects, documents, and works of art to people at home and abroad.

The total display area of ​​Da Nang Fine Arts Museum is 1,185.5m2 on a site of ​​1,870m2, the building that was the former base of the Da Nang History Museum consists of 3 floors.

The museum was operated in 1991 but was established in 1987. The museum building was designed by Mr. Rivera – the French architect, from 1929 to 1934 and completed with a harmonious combination of architectural styles: Asian architecture (China) and European classical architecture (France).
