Information to know about Tan Son Dam

Tan Son Dam is located in Nghia Hung commune, Chu Pah district (Gia Lai), 25 Km north from the Pleiku city center. This is an irrigation project in the basin of the Sea Lake. The harmony between the beauty of the mountains, nature, and rivers associated with the magnificent works created by humans has formed a captivating landscape. This place is intended to become a destination of Pleiku on holidays or weekends, especially for young people.

To reach the Tan Son Dam, from the T-junction of Tan Son – Ha Bau, you go through the administrative center of Chư Jôr commune, and enter Chư Jôr intersection, then turn left. Then follow this path through the east of Chu Jôr to arrive. The road to Tan Son dam is straightforward to go as it made of concrete, quite spacious. If you do not follow this direction, you can cross Nghia Hung tea hill; every turn will see signposts, just follow the instructions. This method is also very convenient, so you do not need to worry.

Tan Son Dam is a wild destination; the impressions here leave an unforgettable feeling to anyone who has ever visited the dam. The scenery on both sides of the road leading to the dam in all four seasons is picturesque, beautiful patches of color from the harmony of nature.

Especially the last rains of the Central Highlands are the time when trees are green and full of vitality. The golden rice fields prepare in the harvest season, looming around them, the green hillsides and the color of water, sky, and plants, flowers, all seem to blend so greenly that makes our hearts cool, calm down.

The lake surface covers an area of ​​about 18 km2, which stretches immensely and attracts the eye. Following the steps, then walk down to the water, you will be surprised with the waves right below your feet. The sound of the water mingling with the sound of birds feeding on the lake is delightful and has a very peaceful feeling.

On the other side of the Tan Son dam, there is a vibrant purple rib of foxtail, foxtail grass, and mimosa flower, etc. And there are flocks of golden cows grazing. In the distance, there is the Ro Nhing stream, which flows through the rocks day and night, supplying the water to gardens. 

Besides, there is the green of the pine forest crowded together to reflect on the calm lake surface. Underneath the pine trees, there are wildflowers, bright flowers, torus, cotton reels that are racing to show off their beauty. Even the dry trees on the lake bed adorn the landscape here.

Not only in the wet season but also in the dry season, the Tan Son dam is also gorgeous. When the water in the lake and the streams recede, only the green moss rocks revealed, but this is also the time when wild grass grows and blooms right under the lake. You will find there are hundreds of unnamed flowers to create a magical charm.
