How to conquer Bang Am peak
Bang Am peak, Quang Nam is a mountainous region of poetic and mysterious beauty, located on the northern edge of Huu Nien mountain. This land is located in Dai Hong commune, Dai Loc district, Quang Nam province.
From Tam Ky city center, it takes about 80 km to the Northwest to get to Bang Am Peak. If you depart from Da Nang, the distance to Bang Am will be only more than 40 km. The journey to conquer may take a long day because of long-distance and slopes. However, it is worth going to the top of this peak, as the poetic beauty appears once reaching the top.

High but flat Bang Am peak
Formerly, Bang Am Quang Nam peak was also known as Am Thông (in Vietnamese thông means pine) because there were many green pine trees on the mountain. However, due to the effects of the war, the pine mountain has mostly disappeared. Despite the lack of pine trees, this place is still beautiful. The appearance of other plants creates a green and majestic ecosystem for this place.
Bang Am is a limestone mountain range with an altitude of about 830 meters above sea level. The total area of this mountain is about 300 ha, with its back resting on 3 small hills and facing the lush Dai Loc valley.
An exciting feature of Bang Am is the relatively flat top structure, which looks like a vast plain. On the mountain, there is a small house of the hermit Tung Son. So locals combine the two characteristics above to name this peak Bang Am for simplicity, easy to remember, and associated with the legend of this mysterious land. (in Vietnamese Bằng means plain, and Am means a small house).
Clim up to Bang Am mountain
Many tourists travel to Quang Nam just to see the Hoi An ancient town or walk into the Tam Thanh village. However, many people come here just to enjoy the feeling of conquering this particular mountain, watching Dai Loc valley from above.
Possessing majestic mountainous terrain with lush green vegetation, the road to the top of the mountain is indeed an interesting journey for those who like to immerse themselves in nature. There are diverse vegetation, lush trees all year round.

Weaving between the immense green rice fields is the Vu Gia River, far away the small roofs hidden in the gardens, create a picture of nature so peaceful and poetic.
Many tourists choose to climb Bang Am in the afternoon and camp overnight to wait for the dawn. In the early morning, the white mist spreads around the top of the mountain. Then the first golden sunlight shines through the fog, creating a beautiful moment captivating the heart.

The season of rose-myrtle flowers blooming
Locals say that Bang Am is almost beautiful all year round with wild and pristine features. But this place is most beautiful perhaps in the season of rose-myrtle flowers blooming, a whole sky with the purple color which adorns the real picture of Quang Nam land more poetic and romantic. Climbing in the rose-myrtle season, you see not only the flowers but also enjoy the ripe rose-myrtle fruits, feel the natural sweetness and then suddenly laugh because of your tongue turning purple.
Usually, the rose-myrtle flowers will start to bloom in late April, early May. About three months later, its fruit begins to ripe, dye the way to the Bang Am Peak purple. Therefore, if you want to experience the feeling of climbing in the middle of the Bang Am rose-myrtle season, you can arrange a trip to go to Quang Nam, plan a trekking combination with camping on the top of the mountain.
In Bang Am landscapes, there are not many exciting entertainments, but in return, they are charming and dreamlike natural scenery. In addition to climbing, camping, and taking photos, you can also immerse yourself in nature, breathe the fresh air to find a balance for the soul.
