Danang Travel Overview

Danang is one of the biggest cities in Vietnam. Danang has a long coast with many beautiful beaches such as Non-Nuoc, My Khe,… Coming to Danang, visitors will have opportunities to enjoy the beautiful places such as Marble Mountains, Ba Na Hills, Son Tra peninsula, Hai Van pass, beaches, and many historical relics. Especially, Danang is surrounded by three world’s cultural heritages including Hue, Hoi An ancient town and My Son Sanctuary.

Danang’s Weather

Danang has a tropical monsoon climate with high temperatures and less fluctuation. Due to its location in the middle of Vietnam, the climate is also influenced by the subtropical climate in the North and the tropical climate of the South. Therefore, Danang is divided into the rainy season (August to December) and the dry season (January to July).

Danang travel guide- When is the best time to visit Danang?

From January to August, Danang has cool weather with 28-30 Celsius, so that time is ideal to travel. Especially, the best time to travel Da Nang is in June, July, and August. It is really convenient for sightseeing, traveling between destinations and beaches.
Also, visitors should also travel to Danang from December to January. This month the weather is also very nice and convenient for outdoor activities with the average temperature is only 18 – 23 Celsius.

Coach:

The Coach to Danang is often North-South sleeper buses. Price and quality are not quite different. You can check out the website of following reliable companies: Hoang Long, Mai Linh, Hlink, Thuan Thao, Phuong Trang, Sinh cafe…

  • From Hanoi to Danang: You can take the coach in Giap Bat ( Giáp Bát) or Nuoc Ngam (Nước Ngầm) stations.
  • From HCM City to Danang: You can take the coach in Mien Dong ( Miền Đông) bus station.

Airplane:

There are three airlines offering the trip to Danang from Hanoi and Saigon: Vietnam airlines, Vietjet air, and Jetstar.

This is a convenient mode of transport to explore the inner city and surroundings. You can rent them at hotels or motorbike shops. It costs about VND 90,000 to VND 150,000 (US $4 to 7) per motorbike per day.

Con ( Cồn) Market: It is the largest market and the center area in Danang . At present, Con market is not only a place for shopping but also is a tourist attraction.

Dragon Bridge (Cầu Rồng): The Dragon Bridge is a bridge with a dragon-shaped over the Han River at Da Nang, Vietnam. Dragon Bridge is 666 meters long, 37.5 meters wide and has six lanes for traffic. This bridge links from the Da Nang International Airport to other main roads in Da Nang City, and a more direct route to My Khe Beach and Non Nuoc Beach on the eastern edge of the City.

The Area Of Son Tra ( Sơn Trà) Peninsula And Monkey Mountain

Son Tra ( Sơn Trà) peninsula

Son Tra peninsula is about 10 kilometers from Da Nang center to the northeast. This peninsula acts as a giant screen protecting Da Nang from storms and cyclones coming from the sea. The peninsula is famous for its plentiful plants and fauna as well as the attractive beautiful sights. Visiting Son Tra peninsula, visitors can enjoy the view of the sea, Hai Van Pass and the entire Da Nang city. Linh Ung ( Linh Ứng) pagoda: This is the biggest pagoda for both scale and architecture. This pagoda is also called Linh Ung Son Tra or Linh Ung Bai But pagoda to differentiate from Linh Ung at the Marble and Ba Na hill.

Fairy Stream ( Suối Tiên) and Rock Stream ( Suối Đá): These are the most beautiful and pristine ones in Son Tra mountain which are the familiar destinations in almost Danang tours to Son Tra peninsula.

Beaches In the East Of Danang City

My Khe (Mỹ Khê) beach: My Khe beach is located near Da Nang city center and is the popular destination for local people and visitors alike. My Khe beach was voted as one of six most charming beaches in the planet by American Economic Review Forbes in 2005. With 900 meters length, My Khe beach with white and gently sloping sand beach, blue water is the best place for bathing and relaxing.

Bac My An ( Bắc Mỹ An) beach:  This beach is the part of Bac My An ward, Ngu Hanh Son district. The attraction of this beach is a long sandy beach with emerald water and mostly unchanged temperature. This is also considered as one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam.

Pham van Dong ( Phạm Văn Đồng) beach: This public beach is very attractive to visitors located in Phuoc My ward. This is a great beach for swimming and relaxing.

The Area Of Marble Mountain ( Ngũ Hành Sơn Mountain)

Tam Thai Pagoda: Tam Thai Pagoda is on Thuy Son (Water), one of the Marble Mountains. This pagoda was constructed in 1930 and is considered a national pagoda and a Buddhist site. Its architecture follows the shape of the Chinese character meaning “king” with high artistic value, which was typical of the architectural style of temples and pagodas under the Nguyen Dynasty.

Non Nuoc ( Non Nước) stone carving village: Thanks to great sophistication of artworks and tiny vivid souvenirs, Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village has long been famous worldwide. Visiting this village, visitors will have a chance to admire skillful carvers creating their beautiful sculptures.

 Surrounding Danang City

Ba Na Hills Resort: Ba Na Hills is located in a mountain of Hoa Vang district, Da Nang. It is an eco-resort as the combination of relaxation and entertainment. Hai Van (Hải Vân) Pass: Hai Van Pass is an impressive landscape in Da Nang as well as in Vietnam. It is like a giant dragon, lying on Highway 1 on the border between Thua Thien-Hue Province and Danang City. Hai Van Pass is one of the most scenic hillside roads and is the highest pass in Vietnam ( 500 meters above sea level) with sudden curves and breathtaking blind corners.

Cam Ne (Cẩm Nê) Mat Village: This village has been famous for its traditional floral patterns. Cam Ne sedge village was once present in the Nguyen Dynasty; Cam Ne artisans also have been awarded the royal dynasties.

Tuy Loan (Túy Loan) Ancient Village: The village has remained over 500 years. Coming to the Tuy Loan (Túy Loan) Ancient Village, you should not miss enjoying local specialties such as rice paper and Quang noodle.

Golden Bridge on Ba Na Hills Resort

The Golden Bridge has attracted many visitors since its opening in early June in 2018. A giant pair of hands lift up this golden bridge into the sky at Thien Thai garden on Ba Na Hills in Da Nang city. With special designing and gorgeous beauty, the Golden Bridge is well known all over the world.

The Bridge of Love

Situated in the East of Han River, Danang city, the Bridge of Love has become a popular tourist attraction of the youth. It is built next to the stone statue named “The Carp transforming to a Dragon” and has become a good place for sightseeing and a marine dock of Danang.

East Sea ( Biển Đông) Park

Thuan Phuoc (Thuận Phước) Field
