Riding along 4C Highway about 30km, the Bac Sum slope appears under the misty clouds. Riding to the motorbike to the top of the slope, then turn your head to look at the small folds of the house nestled between the undulating mountains. Looking at corn, rice fields lay on both sides of the road interspersed with soaring pine hills, you know for sure of having a wonderful trip.

But do not satisfy yourself quickly, because compared to the scenic spots on the journey, the beauty in the sea of clouds on the Bac Sum slope is just a gentle start.

After visiting Co Tien mountain couple – a beautiful creation in Tam Son town (Quan Ba), you will go down the area near Yen Minh town to enjoy the vast of terraced rice fields of Lao Va Chai.

It would be incomplete without mentioning the Dong Van rock plateau and the Ma Pi Leng pass. Riding along the middle of the rugged mountain, looking up Mong people’s house erected on this side of the high pass and the abyss on the other side to feel all the endlessness of nature as well as the harshness of people’s lives in remote areas.

Come to admire the beauty of Ha Giang once to see the houses erected among the rocky mountains, looking at the corn, the soybean planted on the rock, and the dappled face always showing the innocent smile of Mong, Dao, and Tày boys; to see that life still needs a lot of love.

Visit Ma Pi Leng – the most beautiful and rugged mountain pass in Vietnam, following the bends overlooking the identical mountains. At the foot, Nho Que river, little green water, flows quietly, according to the arrangement of creation.

Stop the motorbike, stand in the middle of the pass, zoom in the eyes to the surrounding and breathe in the fresh air, smells of plants and trees to see how beautiful the Fatherland is!

Experience a colorful culture

Not only has the majestic natural scenery, but Ha Giang is also a long-standing cultural land of many indigenous peoples.

Mong people reside in a large area in the highest mountainous areas and leave a strong impression on cultural life.

Once, stay in a Mong house with a unique stone fence, walls made of thick clay. At the embers stove, lifting a cup of corn wine, swaying your soul to the rhythm of the homeowner’s story about his people to feel all the specialties of the culture, is a beautiful experience.

On the way to the Dong Van old town, you cannot miss going to the palace of King Meo Vuong Chinh Duc. On the wide mound under the Sa Phin valley, the Meo’s palace is hidden among tall canopy trees pointing straight to the blue sky. Everyone will be overwhelmed by the grandeur of this mansion.

The mansion is built entirely of precious wood, the yin-yang tile roof is divided into the front, middle and back with extremely exterior architecture blending influences of Mong, French, Chinese.

Standing in the middle of a hundred-year-old mansion, listening to the story of the life of a Mong warlord who once roamed all over Dong Van, is the experience that you should not miss.

If you want to feel more constructive interference, you should visit Dong Van ancient town. Surrounded by the mountains, this old town with only 40 old houses formed the U-shaped, locates in the center of bustling Dong Van district.

Here, the Mong, Tay, Chinese, etc. live intermittently with each other in the houses full of time. Early in the morning, buyers and sellers everywhere flocked to the Dong Van market to exchange fruits and vegetables and local produce in many languages, create a bustling atmosphere which is the signature beauty of Ha Giang.

Sitting in a restaurant in the center of the old town, sipping shan-snow tea, biting a crunchy buckwheat pie, then huddling in the cold to watch the flow of people, you’ll feel as happy as a clam at high water.

In the lower mountains, it is not too cold. The small houses on stilts are built of wooden planks in harmony with the surrounding scenery. Under the crisp, early autumn sun, the golden rice amazes your view.
