Gia Lai

Gia Lai is the second largest province in Vietnam, located in the north of the Central Highlands region. This province borders Kon Tum province to the north, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Phu Yen provinces to the east, Dak Lak province to the south. The west of Gia Lai borders with Ratanakiri province in Cambodia, with a border-line of about 90 km. The geographical location creates conditions for Gia Lai to become a vital transfer point of the whole Central Highlands region and to Cambodia. Therefore, traffic here is quite developed, with national highways 14, 19, 25, and Ho Chi Minh route, especially with Pleiku airport, which is very convenient for domestic travel. Gia Lai is known as the place where the headquarter of Hoang Anh Group is and where the Hoang Anh GiaLai Football Academy produces many talented players for the Vietnam national football team. There are also many beautiful landscapes like Sea Lake, Ham Rong peak, Mang Yang sky gate, rubber forests, vast coffee forests, etc. Yaly Hydropower locates on the Sesan River in Yaly Commune, Chu Pah District, which is the largest underground hydroelectric project in Vietnam. The large and modern Yaly hydroelectric plant, both exposed and hidden in the mountains, has become a new landscape, combining harmony between wild nature and the fruits of human hands. Gia Lai has a long-standing culture of the ethnic minorities, mainly the Giarai and Bana, expressed through the architecture of the communal house, the stilt house, the tomb, the traditional festival, the costumes, and the musical instruments. Specific musical instruments of ethnic minorities such as Gongs, Dan Da, Dan K'ni, K'long put, Dan Goong, T'rung, Alal, etc. Gia Lai has specialties such as Can wine, Burning rice - Glutinous rice wine, dried noodles (Pho two bowls), and famous sculpture is the tomb statue.
