Location

Tra Su cajuput forest is located in Van Giao commune, Tinh Bien district, An Giang; Long Xuyen city nearly 100km. As one of the typical destinations of An Giang water-rising season tourism, this is a mangrove forest with the most abundant flora and fauna in the Southwest region.

With an area of ​​up to 850ha, there are currently 70 species of birds, 11 mammals, 25 reptiles, and 10 species of fish. In addition, the cajuput forest is the gathering place for 140 plant species belonging to 52 families and 102 genera, including 22 species of timber and many other trees.

To go to Tra Su cajuput forest, from TP. Ho Chi Minh City, you can buy tickets to Chau Doc at the Western bus station for about 150,000 – 300,000 VND / trip. From Chau Doc, you follow Tan Lo Kieu Luong, follow Highway 91. When passing Tra Su bridge in Nha Bang town, Tinh Bien district, turn left along Tra Su channel to reach cajuput forest.

Journey to explore cajuput forest

Tra Su cajuput forest welcomes you with long green canals and a fresh air, faintly scent characteristic of cajuput. Your journey will start with the cute switches, crept into every corner of the forest.

As a famous destination of An Giang, the price of services here is quite comfortable. It only takes you 50-60,000 VND / person for a single lift from 3-5 people to visit the cajuput forest in 2 hours. The natural landscape here will make you feel like you are immersed in a fantasy dream realm.

The most suitable time to visit Tra Su forest is from August to November in the lunar calendar. This is the water-rising season in the Southwest region. During this time, you will have the opportunity to learn about the unique plants and animals of the flood season.

You should visit the forest early in the morning to enjoy the fresh, cooling atmosphere before the sun rises that brings the heat. The early morning or late afternoon is the time when the forest is most lively, when the chirping birds spread their wings to find food or fly back to the shelter after a long day.
