Say Hello Vietnam operates sayhellovietnam.com, a website with travel guides and editorial content about Vietnam. This notice covers the website and the newsletter and enquiry features described below. It does not cover other websites or email services you choose to use.
Information handled by the website
Website requests and performance measurement
When your browser requests a page, image, or other site resource, our hosting and delivery providers may process technical details needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, requested page, referrer, browser or device information, and request time. Some pages also load images from external media hosts, which receive the technical information associated with those image requests.
The current public pages include a Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon. It uses browser performance information to measure page performance and site usage. Cloudflare describes Web Analytics as collecting minimal timing metrics, not collecting or using visitors’ personal data, and not tracking individual end users across its customers’ properties. Cloudflare also says the beacon does not use cookies or local storage for analytics. See Cloudflare Web Analytics and its data collection documentation.
The current website pages do not load Google Analytics 4 (GA4) or Google Tag Manager. If that changes, this notice will be updated to describe the new practice.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, the form collects your email address and requires you to select an explicit consent checkbox. When you submit, the site sends your email address and an opt-in flag to Brevo, which manages the mailing list and newsletter delivery. The current signup flow adds the address after submission and does not require a separate confirmation email. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter email.
Enquiries and contact forms
The enquiry form on the Services page validates your entries in your browser and opens your email application with the message addressed to [email protected]. The website does not submit or store those form fields. If you send the email, it is handled by your email provider and may be retained in our mailbox as needed to respond to and manage the enquiry.
The form on the Contact page is a non-submitting preview. Information typed into it stays in the page in your browser; the form does not send it to us or store it on the website.
How information is used
- To deliver, maintain, and protect the website and its media.
- To measure page performance and aggregate site usage through Cloudflare Web Analytics.
- To manage the newsletter and send travel emails when you have subscribed.
- To respond to an enquiry or privacy request that you choose to send to us.
Service providers
We use providers to operate the website and the features described above. Vercel hosts the site; Cloudflare provides delivery and security services and the Web Analytics beacon; Brevo manages newsletter subscriptions and delivery. Some pages request images from external media hosts. These providers may process technical or account information under their own privacy notices and service terms. Their services may process information in locations different from yours; we have not confirmed a single storage location or a fixed retention period for all provider logs.
Retention
Newsletter information is kept in Brevo while needed to manage your subscription and send the newsletter. After you unsubscribe, a limited suppression record may be retained by the email provider so the unsubscribe can be respected. If you send an enquiry email, it may be kept while we handle the enquiry and maintain ordinary business records. Technical log retention is controlled by the relevant hosting, delivery, and security providers and their settings; we do not state a fixed period for those logs.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any newsletter email. For a question or request about information handled by Say Hello Vietnam, contact [email protected]. Please do not include payment-card or other sensitive information in an ordinary email.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when the website or its data practices change. The effective date at the top of the page shows when this version was last updated.
