Lotte Hotel in Hanoi topped Tripadvisor’s list of 10 best hotels in Vietnam this year, including facilities in Hue, Hoi An, and Phu Quoc.
Lotte Hotel in Hanoi was voted the best hotel in Vietnam, according to the annual 2022 ranking compiled by the U.S. online booking site Tripadvisor, based on millions of reviews and opinions.
Situated on the upper part of a 65-floor building in the downtown area near Hanoi’s iconic tourist destinations, the hotel has 235 standard rooms and 83 suites, each offering a panoramic view of the capital.
It also has a fitness center, outdoor swimming pool, basketball court, kids play center and 24-hour gym service.
The lowest price for a night’s stay is VND2.23 million ($96.45).
Vinpearl Discovery Ha Tinh in Loc Ha District of north-central Ha Tinh Province came second in the list.
This upscale resort along Xuan Hai Beach is 19 kilometers from Huong Tich Pagoda, a vast mountainside temple complex and popular spiritual site.
It has 42 well-equipped rooms featuring private pools and views of long, sandy beaches.
A night’s stay costs VND3.62 million.
Only a 15-minute drive from Da Nang airport and 800 meters from Marble Mountains, Vinpearl Resort and Spa Da Nang is third on the list.
Spanning Non Nuoc Beach, once voted one of Asia’s most beautiful for its blue waters, consists of 122 villas with modern neoclassical architecture.
A night’s stay costs VND3.49 million.
In Hai Phong City, around two hours east of Hanoi, Vinpearl Hotel Rivera Hai Phong came fourth on the list.
It has 211 rooms designed in modern neoclassical style and features a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, and bar.
A night’s stay costs VND1.54 million.
Just a few steps from Long Beach on Phu Quoc Island off the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang, Salinda Resort stood in the fifth position.
The resort features 121 luxury rooms, suites, and villas designed in contemporary style.
Each room has unique wall art, showcasing the beauty of the island’s natural wonders.
A night’s stay costs VND2.35 million.
Sheraton Grand Danang Resort along Non Nuoc Beach, which has 270 air-conditioned rooms, came in sixth.
There’s a buffet restaurant, tea lounge, whiskey bar, and beach and pool bars. Other amenities include a gym, three outdoor pools, a posh spa, a private beach, and a kids’ club.
A night’s stay costs VND3.57 million.
Located by Thu Bon River in Hoi An Ancient Town, Anantara Hoi An Resort is free of plastic bottles, and drinks come with bamboo straws while an eco-hi-tech system supplies water.
Its 94 luxury rooms offer views of the Thu Bon River or green gardens.
While staying at the resort, guests can join a boat tour to release floating lanterns onto the river on the 14th lunar day of each month, a traditional travel experience in the ancient town.
Rooms cost $199, including breakfast.
Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, ranked eighth on this year’s Tripadvisor list, is one of the few capital hotels featuring French architecture and has become a tourism symbol.
The hotel is home to a two-meter-high wartime bomb shelter discovered in 2011. It was where many famous figures of the Vietnam War, including actress Jane Fonda and author Tom Hayden, both anti-war activists, took refugees as bombs rained down on Hanoi.
While staying at the hotel, guests can try Vietnamese classics like spring rolls and pho (noodle soup) and Western standards like eggs benedict and French toast.
Founded in 1901, it is one of the oldest hotels in Hanoi and used to serve former U.S. presidents, including Barack Obama, during their visits to Vietnam.

Angsana Lang Co Vietnam in Cu Du Village of Phu Loc District in Thua Thien-Hue Province was voted the ninth-best hotel in Vietnam.
Combining modern styles and traditional cultural traits of Vietnam, Angsana hosts 222 standard rooms and suites stretching along with Lang Co, one of the world’s most pristine bays.
There are five restaurants and bars, including an open-air seafood eatery. Other amenities include a private beach area with sun loungers and games.
There’s also an 18-hole golf course, outdoor pool, gym, spa, and kids’ club. Guests can also experience kayaking, jet skiing, and snorkeling here.
A night’s stay costs VND2.89 million.
Lying along Ong Lang Beach on Phu Quoc Island, Chen Sea Resort and Spa Phu Quoc rounded out the top 10 list.
Surrounded by a lush tropical forest, it has 36 villas stretching along sandy beaches that are mostly isolated from crowded residential areas.
Each villa has a private balcony, an open bath, and a swimming pool.
