Entrance ticket price:

-Adults: 35,000 VND / ticket / time

-Children: 15,000 VND / ticket / time

Each ticket is valid for 24 hours, including visit the Nam Dieu Temple of pottery, watch artisans make pottery, and experience making pottery yourself – you will be able to bring back 02 ceramic products. Make it for yourself, visit Xuan My communal house.

The road to Thanh Ha traditional village will not be far away if you are present in Hoi An ancient town.

History of formation and development of Thanh Ha in Hoi An

The traditional pottery village existed for a long time in the 16th century in Thanh Chiem village. Stages of creating Thanh Ha Pottery products

When coming to Thanh Ha Pottery Village in Hoi An, you will see a rustic and peaceful picture, and all the utensils of the local people here are made from ceramic such as vases, cups, bowls, plates, pots, pans, etc. First, you will join the artisans here to perform the process of kneading pottery to make a rough shapeless rock. The primary raw material of pottery is clay, dense, flexible, and has higher adhesion. The primary colors are brown, yellow, and crimson, creating a unique feature of Thanh Ha pottery, bringing the national soul in each product.

Next, the preliminary processing of the rough soil mass reaches the adhesion. Then you will use your own hands to shape the product on a unique turntable, according to the shape you desire. This stage shows the ingenuity and craftsmanship of the creator to create the finished product. Then, you bring the product to dry in the sun or heat it on a charcoal stove to dry quickly.

Finally, bring these products into the kiln under a specific temperature. All the above stages are done by hand, so elaborately and sophisticatedly. Therefore, Thanh Ha artisans must show their ingenuity and creativity and have a love for their craft, love for their homeland, meticulously cherish each decorative line, and breathe the nation’s soul into each island to create unique ceramic products. It’s a fantastic experience. 

According to the share of famous long-time artisans in Thanh Ha, to make an authentic ceramic product of Thanh Ha village requires a lot of work and dedication. Selecting clay to achieve the appropriate plasticity takes skillful hands to knead, mold, and shape on each rotating circle of the turntable.

Then, the stage of painting and decorating patterns and colors has to be even more meticulous and elaborate. When finished ceramic products, they have to go through the hot sun to dry. The particular firing stage must pay attention to the fire. The degree of fire and the firing time must be accurate, or else it will become a pile of rubble.

Thanh Ha Terracotta Park was built five years ago in the traditional pottery village of Thanh Ha, in Thanh Ha ward, Hoi An, with a total investment value of more than VND 22 billion, an area of ​​​​nearly 6,000 square meters. Architect Nguyen Van Nguyen is the owner and the person who designs, invests, and builds. 

Thanh Ha Terracotta Park includes 02 main buildings.

– The building on the left represents the upside-down kiln reproducing the history of the shaping process of Thanh Ha Village and displaying ancient artifacts of the pottery village. Here preserve the traditional values ​​of Thanh Ha Hoi An pottery village hundreds of years of history.
