In addition, Bai Mon Beach Phu Yen has the Dai Lanh lighthouse that shines every night to help boat fish and travel on the sea and into Vung Ro bay. The French built this lighthouse in 1890. After 55 years of being lit, the lighthouse was stopped until 1961. The Saigon government restored it. However, once again, the lighthouse had to be halted because, to prevent the Vietnamese revolution’s sea supply route from entering Vung Ro, the American colonialists bombed the mountains and forests of this area, destroying the entire lighthouse. It was not until August 1996 when the State repaired and restored the lighthouse, officially back in operation in 1997.
